Rainforest Destruction 04/05/2011

I choosed this topic because I wanted to do a topic about how we are slowly destroying the earth. I read some information about this topic and it was kind of interesting. I also choosed this topic was because I like to learn about how the world, the climate are changing. I like learning about this because I want to help the world get better.

The background information about my topic is about how people are killing the trees in forests all over the world, just because they need to build stuff with trees and get different types of oils, gases that are beneath the trees. At the beginning when the world began, it started with a lot of trees and animals in rain forest and now there is not that much.

9th Grade Reflection

In my first year of high school, as a freshman I was still attending International High School. But next, I hope I move to a different school. The classes that I was the most successful were; Art 1, P. E, World Geography, IPC, and sometimes in English 1. I was successful in Art 1 because it was very easy and I am good at drawing. P.E is easy for everyone; you just had to dress out. World Geography was easy to me because I already knew most of the stuff that I learned in that class, and because my teacher was good at teaching. IPC was easy for me, but the teacher didn’t explain things well. And English 1 was sometimes easy, but it was hard too. I didn’t get my credit for my first semester, but then I stayed for credit recovery and I got it. Then in the second semester I got better in this subject. The classes that I was least successful were both of my Math classes and Chinese 1. I’ve always been bad in all my math classes, but I did get all my credits of all my math classes last year and this year.  My Chinese class last year was easier than this year. I am not successful in this subject because leaning Chinese is hard for me. And also because the teacher doesn’t explain herself on the Chinese words, as she should. My most memorable moment from my ninth grade was when the whole school went to Kemah. It was my most memorable moment from my ninth grade because it was fun, and I had fun with the people that I was with, also because it was the last day of school. Just that and it wasn’t so memorable either, so I really didn’t have a memorable moment from my ninth grade. But that could be one of them.

10th Grade Reflection

My sophomore year here at International High School at Sharpstown has changed me by knowing what to do so I can have a good future, like have a good job and all that. It has changed or affected me by knowing that I have to finish high school and go to college. And never get in trouble and to not do the wrong thing. One thing that I learned about myself this year, is that I can graduate from high school and then go to college, because I am smart, but not in all the subjects but I have to put all my effort on it. I encountered a lot of things that I did not expect this school year; one thing was coming back to this school. Some contributions that I made in school, and around my community this year was to pass all my classes and help my elementary school on its students that can’t speak English good. And I got community hours for it. A misconception about me was that if I was going to pass all my classes on my first semester as a sophomore, and I did. Another misconception is that if I’m going to pass all my TAKS tests, but I think I am going to pass them all.  Some challenges that I had were doing a lot of projects in all of my classes, they were hard to think if what I was going to do, but I did do most of my projects. Some successes this year were passing all my semester one classes. All the things that I have learned on my sophomore year are going to” push me” through my next and last two years of high school by passing all my classes more easily and with a better grade than before and also pass all my TAKS test on my junior year.
